Chimney Cap & Chase Cover in Shavano Park, TX

Caps And Chase Covers For Multi-Flue Custom Stacks In Shavano Park

Caps and covers in Shavano Park have to suit complex rooflines with wide chimneys that need crickets behind them. The single most common call we get here involves one-size caps that never fit these stacks, so we fabricate multi-flue covers to measure, and a stock cap off a shelf rarely fits properly. We measure the flue or chase on site and fit stainless that sheds water instead of holding it — the difference matters when water pooling behind wide stacks where the roof has no diverter.

Factory chase covers on Shavano Park homes are usually thin galvanized metal. They rust from the inside within ten to fifteen years, pond water in the middle and stain rust streaks down the siding — a sign we look for from the driveway.

Open flues are also an invitation. Birds, squirrels and raccoons nest in uncapped Bexar County chimneys every spring, and the nest material blocks the flue and pushes smoke back inside.

Most Shavano Park cap and cover jobs are measured on the first visit and fitted on the second, once the stainless is fabricated to suit complex rooflines with wide chimneys that need crickets behind them.
